Someone who is overweight will usually get our body sweaty, hoping to burn fat in thebody. One common practice is to do a steam bath or sauna.
Many of us believe, by doing a sauna, body weight will decrease because the body isspending a lot of sweat and burn fat. But unfortunately, such an assumption is actuallyfalse.
According to nutrition expert Dr. Samuel Oetoro, MS, Sp.GK, someone who only dosaunas, their weight will not go down. The reason is that out of the body is water instead of sweat.
"A lot of the wrong assumption. Fat people into the gym so skinny, out into the sauna. Then the weight loss of two pounds. Yes, yes, people who discarded the water. But whatburns fat? No!" he said, in a seminar titled Management of Obesity and Its RelatedProblems, held the Department of Nutritional Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, Friday, (04/08/2011).
Someone who are obese, said Samuel, indeed more prone to sweating. But sweat can not be interpreted by the burning of fat or weight loss.
Then how to burn body fat? Samuel gives advice that is quite unique. He advocated byexercising regularly in the place cold bercuaca. He said, with exercising in cold, burningfat will be high.
"In the place cold, our body adapts in a high heat production. Production of high heatthat is, metabolism is increased. With increased metabolism, fat will burn," he concluded.
