Research: Diligent's Twitter Same with Diligent Masturbation

Jakarta, masturbation habits can be seen from someone on social networking activities, especially Twitter. Surveys show, someone who diligently nge-tweet generally 2 times more hooked to vent his sexual desires with his own hands.

The survey was conducted on 21,315 users matchmaking site OK Cupid with an age range between 18-24 years. Researchers studied how often the respondents active in Twitter, then compare with the tendency to masturbate.

The result is quite surprising, a majority of respondents from groups who diligently nge-tweet every day confessed frequent masturbation. 2:1 ratio when compared with the tendency to masturbate in groups of respondents who only nge-tweet a few days.

A sexual psychology expert from the United States, Dr. Kat Van Kirk suspected cause is the ease of access to 'visual stimulation'. Twitter users are always connected to the internet, so the closer to the pictures or videos that can stimulate desire.

"Level of communication on the user's Twitter higher than others. If they had plenty of time to nge-tweet, they must also have time to masturbate," he said as quoted by MensHealth.com, Monday (04/25/2011).

Still, not all experts agree with the results of the survey. Reproductive health experts from Indiana University, Debby Herbenick, PhD assess such an informal survey was too weak to draw the conclusion that can be generally accepted.

Moreover, Twitter users tend to be more extroverted or open to expression. Without a valid method, the survey could be interpreted that the users of Twitter is just more honest to admit his habit to masturbate.
